Check out this video from the guys at Red Paddle, they throw the Red Air 10’6 off the top of a building and drive over the board with a VW transporter van and surf it on to rocks. The Red Air is a pretty tough SUP board. Watch and see…
Beautiful sunny weather greeted the 40+ paddle boarders arriving at Aquasports in Redhill in Surrey yesterday for the final action in the Frostbite SUP series. Windless conditions made for some close racing. Starboard Race Team members took the top spots in all divisions.
There was a great mix of first time racers and seasoned elite level paddlers. It was great to see Aquasports embracing SUP and off the back of the racing they manage to fill a beginners SUP session from people watching the action unfold on the water. Proof if any was needed that getting the sport exposed out on the water is what drives demand and sales.
A big thank you must go to Colin Elston and his family for running such a great event as well as Sam and her team at Aquasports who were so accommodating and allowed the event to practically take over the centre for the day.
1) Ryan James – Starboard K15
2) Mike Ellicock – Starboard K15
3) John Hibbard – Starboard ACE 14′
4) Paul Simmons – Starboard K15
1) Mark Slater – Starboard 12’6″ Race
2) Pete Holliday – Starboard 2’6″ Race
Paddlers on Starboard boards also won the juniors, ladies and novice divisions so I think we can call that a good day in the office.
